The Junior Developer will work with and support the Lead Developer to enhance previous developments, build new applications, create & manage APIs and assist with the maintenance of in-place programs.
Using Microsoft PowerApps, PowerAutomate, SQL, and other emerging tools, the junior developer will be responsible for the creation of applications and code they develop. Using new technologies, agile methodologies, and working with SCOR Operations and the insurance business.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Lead Developer
- Support with code creation for any new developments / enhancements
- Peer-review of developments
- Create new applications
- Work with the business to understand requirements
- Analyse requirements with the team; propose and discuss solutions
- Develop and perform Dev Testing before releasing to UAT
- Create & Maintain APIs
- Maintain Current Developments
- Support with user queries
- Bug fixes
- Weekly Change Approval Board (CAB ) participation as appropriate
- Present changes / updates on developments
- Understand dependencies and advise CAB appropriately of conflicts / impacts
- Ensure good governance
- Changes and associated documentation is stored centrally
- Testing is documented
- Communication to users are timely and appropriate
Contributes to the Company’s result by ensuring that developments created by the team are maintained and fully functioning, allowing the business to perform their duties without incident; and ensuring developments are coded to a high standard, which allows for easy maintenance and business process improvement.
Qualifications
Experience of MS PowerPlatform development, including:
- Canvas Apps
- Model-Driven Apps
- Forms, JavaScript, Knowledge of Plugins (with C#)
- PowerAutomate
- Technical Testing
General Experience of:
- Database knowledge in SQL Server and SQL
- Understanding of Data Modelling
- C# Experience – API development
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Azure services specific to App Services and Function Apps
- Power BI Reports development
- Python knowledge and exposure to AI Models
- Azure DevOps
- Power Apps Test Studio
Competencies
- Agile development and testing processes
- Flexibility to work both within a Waterfall / Agile project environment, as appropriate.

Education
- University degree in Computer Science / STEM based, or equivalent experience.
- Formal qualifications in computing / IT development(s)
