We have entry-level roles available in our Asset and Wealth Management (AWM), our Retail Investments & Insurance division; and in our Alpha Data Solutions (ADS) Team.

Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) – Analyst:

Alpha’s Asset and Wealth Management division is focused solely on asset and wealth management alone, where we work with 21 of the top 25 largest global asset management firms, and over 130 clients across the globe.

Graduates that join our AWM team can expect the following:

  • 3-week ‘Alpha Analyst Training Programme’ designed to provide key consulting skills and an opportunity to meet your colleagues
    • Tool-specific training (e.g. Excel charting/PowerPoint design)
    • Soft skill training (time management, influence without authority, presentation skills)
    • Consulting training (preparing a cost model, producing deliverables, managing stakeholders)
    • Training to support completion of the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and Prince II Agile Qualification
  • Client-exposure from ‘day one’ – after completing the Alpha Analyst Training Programme, you will start supporting our Asset and Wealth Management clients on projects across a range of practice areas. You will be working alongside some of the most senior executives in the industry and helping them solve challenges to achieve their goals
  • Day-to-day activities including:
    • Attending client meetings
    • Documenting requirements
    • Preparing client proposal PowerPoint presentations
    • Building financial models
    • Engaging in creative problem solving with Alpha colleagues

Candidate Profile:

  • An exemplary academic background including a minimum of a 2:1 degree from a leading institution
  • Have a genuine interest in consulting and the asset & wealth management industry
  • Be highly ambitious, proactive and entrepreneurial with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Have strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset
  • Have completed an internship in the professional, legal, IT or financial services sectors
  • Willingness to be part of a team which enjoys working hard and socialising together
  • An interest in assisting with one or more areas of business management

Asset & Wealth Management – Technical Analyst:

Alpha’s Asset and Wealth Management division is focused solely on asset and wealth management alone, where we work with 21 of the top 25 largest global asset management firms, and over 130 clients across the globe.

Our Client & Digital Tech Stream focuses on using Data and Technology to optimise Sales, Service and Marketing aspects of our client’s business functions.

Graduates that join our Client & Digital Tech team can expect the following:

  • 1 week ‘Alpha TechnologyAnalyst Training Programme’ designed to provide key technical and consulting skills, and an opportunity to meet your colleagues
    • System-specific training course in a relevant Technology to current client projects (e.g. Salesforce / Seismic / Tableau) including a
    • Tool-specific training (e.g. VSCode / Github set up, Excel charting/PowerPoint design)
    • Soft skill training (time management, influence without authority, presentation skills)
    • Consulting training (preparing a cost model, producing deliverables, managing stakeholders)
    • External Training course to support completion of
  • Client-exposure from ‘day one’ – after completing the Alpha Technology Analyst Training Programme, you will start supporting our Asset and Wealth Management clients on projects across a range of practice areas. You will be working alongside some of the most senior executives in the industry and helping them solve challenges to achieve their goals
  • Day-to-day activities including:
    • Attending client meetings
    • Documenting requirements
    • Developing system functionality in line with assigned user stories
    • Writing code for custom functionality, along with unit testing
    • Engaging in creative problem solving with Alpha colleagues

Candidate Profile:

  • An exemplary academic background including a minimum of a 2:1 degree from a leading institution
  • Have a genuine interest in consulting, technology and the asset & wealth management industry
  • Experience in programming (e.g. Java, Python, Javascript)
  • Experience with web or data technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, SQL)
  • Be highly ambitious, proactive and entrepreneurial with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Have strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset
  • Have completed an internship or work experience in the technology or finance sector
  • Willingness to be part of a team which enjoys working hard and socialising together
  • An interest in assisting with one or more areas of business management

Retail Investments & Insurance – Analyst:

The Retail Investments & Insurance division was established in order to further diversify Alpha’s industry footprint. As the asset management and life and pensions sectors continue to converge, we believe it is vitally important to both understand the heritage and nuances of the retail investment and insurance segments, whilst leveraging Alpha’s leading expertise to support our clients. We currently cover:

Retail Investments (RI): The RI team are supporting our clients on some of the industry’s most ground-breaking and exciting engagements. We work with industry leading investment platforms, adviser networks, life and pensions companies and technology providers to position their businesses for future success.

General Insurance & Specialty: Our recent expansion of the Insurance division into GI and Specialty reflects the growing demand from clients in this space. We work on exciting projects which deliver successful business change, including target operating model design and implementation, strategy definition and delivery, and cost optimisation.

Aiviq – Analyst:

Aiviq is a fast-growing Fintech business specialising in data for the Asset and Wealth Management and Alternatives sector, helping their clients make better decisions by giving them greater understanding of their business. Over the last 3 years we have grown both organically and through acquisition from a team of 3 to a team of 35 across both our London and Belgrade offices. During that time we have also developed one of the leading solutions in creating value from diverse sources of Distribution data – one of the key ‘hot topics’ in the industry.

Graduates that join our Aiviq team can expect the following:

  • 2-week ‘Aiviq Analyst Training Programme’ designed to provide an orientation of the Aiviq value proposition, products, and solutions, as well as to develop your consulting and technical capabilities and meet the various team members across the Aiviq business:
    • Tool-specific training (e.g. PowerBI data analysis and visualisations, JIRA and Confluence)
    • Soft skill training (time management, influence without authority, presentation skills)
    • Consulting training (project management, producing deliverables, managing stakeholders)
    • Varied Udemy based training courses depending on your team alignment 
  • Client or Product-exposure from ‘day one’ – depending on your team alignment, you will either join a client implementation of an Aiviq product, start owning a product backlog and release process, or own our lead generation initiatives to increase the pipeline of Aiviq prospects and sales opportunities
  • You will play a critical role in driving the efforts of one of the Aiviq functional teams and help to establish the Aiviq brand as the market leader in Distribution Data solutions and solve the problem of messy client and operational data in asset management
  • Day-to-day activities including:
    • Attending client meetings / internal stand-ups and scrum meetings
    • Preparing client proposal materials
    • Producing project deliverables or writing user stories
    • Managing a client project or product backlog and release cycle
    • Conduct lead generation activities 
    • Engaging in creative problem solving and innovation thinking with Aiviq colleagues

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong academic record and experience of working with first rate consultancy firm via internships or direct employment
  • Broad knowledge of the Asset Management industry with some knowledge of key business functions
  • Demonstrable experience, affinity and aptitude for:
    • Conceptual thinking and clear and creative communication skills
    • Managing complex situations and relationships
    • Business and commercial acumen
    • Organisation and use of personal productivity and planning tools
    • Coding and/or data analysis and visualisation
    • Project management with agile, waterfall or hybrid methodologies
    • Undertaking complex analysis with the ability to understand and explain large and complex data sets
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Open minded, sceptical disposition and a willingness to learn and take on responsibility quickly
