What stood out to you about Accenture before securing your role?

The assessment day was when I decided I really wanted to join Accenture. All the staff were so friendly, and we did some really cool activities; I remember one activity which involved wearing a VR headset. I liked the fact that Accenture didn’t follow the same, traditional approach as most consultancies.

How did you show you have a passion for Accenture at the interview?

I just tried to convey my genuine enthusiasm for all things futuristic. I love thinking and talking about new technologies and how they’re going to change the world and I tried to convey that in the interview.

What has been your working ‘highlight’ thus far?

A recent canapés and champagne reception on the rooftop of our diamond retail client’s swanky office was pretty special after a busy two weeks of in-person user experience testing. We’d worked so hard to design a new instore digital experience over the previous year, so it was great to hear real customers sharing positive feedback, and it was also nice to share that success with the client team.

What was the jump like from analyst to consultant?

The jump from analyst to consultant felt natural as I started to grow in confidence and build up my skills in this area - plus you always have an army of people who are willing to help you out along the way!

When did you start to think about specialising?

Within my first year I decided I wanted to work on tangible projects where you could really see the benefit in the real world. It was towards the end of my first year at Accenture that I decided I wanted to specialise in Design & Digital Products.

What top three tips would you give Bright Network members looking to follow in your footsteps?

  • Don’t be afraid to reach out to strangers on LinkedIn to ask questions. Most people are usually happy to share their experience and answer any questions you might have.
  • Any work experience is good experience. It doesn’t matter what company you interned at, it’s far more important what you learned through that experience. I talked about my time selling mini golf multiple times throughout my Accenture interview!
