What stood out to you about Accenture before securing your role?

The main thing that stood out about Accenture was that it promoted a culture of innovation and critical thinking. Accenture was and still is at the forefront of its industry, but it is also at the forefront of other social, workplace and sustainability values, which makes it very unique.

What is the culture like at Accenture?

Accenture culture is based on its people and their values. The company often looks to its people to lead the way and dictate the direction the culture falls to. It promotes a strong sense of community, interconnectedness, inclusivity while remaining challenging, competitive and dynamic.

What opportunities do Accenture offer?

Accenture provides opportunities to learn and grow in safe spaces with support from the community. This comes in the form of formal training, but also within the number of job roles and responsibilities that each function/client/project offers. There are also opportunities to get involved with other communities away from your job role, such as sports, hobbies and social values.

What has been your working ‘highlight’ thus far?

The work highlight that comes to me first isn’t a specific event but the feeling of confidence in my ability. When I joined as a 17-year-old intern I often lacked confidence in my decisions and opinions, however over the past 2 years (since rejoining as a graduate) I have gained so much confidence in not only my abilities but my consulting knowledge!

What top three tips would you give Bright Network members looking to follow in your footsteps

  1. Be yourself. - As cheesy as it sounds you are unique and that’s what companies like Accenture want. It doesn’t want a team of people who are all the same because nothing ever changed when everyone had the same option!
  2. There aren’t silly questions! – Every question is valid and if you don’t understand the answer you can ask again! You deserve to understand and I’m yet to meet someone at Accenture that won’t share their knowledge and experience.
  3. Advocate for yourself. – Always speak up! What you have to say is important and what you need is even more important!
