Empower Tomorrow's Innovators: Unleash Your Passion for Science at Greenwood Academy!

Greenwood Academy is a vibrant, successful 11-18 Academy situated in the heart of Castle Vale on the North East edge of Birmingham. We currently have 950 pupils on roll and are growing every year.  As a member of The Academies Enterprise Trust, our vision is to enable pupils to ‘find their remarkable’, achieving the highest personal and academic standards. We intend that all children do better academically and personally than they could have imagined as an 11 year old, to thrive as an adult and have a great life.  The school was judged  ‘Good’ by Ofsted, October 2021.

You will be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people with the natural ability to inspire and motivate both pupils and staff.

The Science Department at Greenwood Academy is committed to a knowledge-rich curriculum and a culture of continuous improvement, where best practices are shared to maintain high standards throughout the academy. We are currently looking for a highly qualified, motivated, and passionate experienced teacher who is dedicated to the success of all students. This role involves teaching Science across a diverse range of ages and abilities, with specific experience in 'A' level being a requirement. As part of our dedicated team of forward-thinking professionals, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every student reaches their full potential. Our curriculum is designed to foster student progress and uphold high expectations across all ability levels.

We want someone who believes that no student should be held back by their economic background and who is passionate about literature and delivering the very best knowledge to our pupils.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player dedicated to delivering excellence in classroom practice. We seek someone with a genuine passion for nurturing the best possible teaching and learning environment. This role requires a commitment to personal and professional development, with a focus on enhancing both subject knowledge and teaching pedagogy, not only for oneself but also for colleagues. Experience in Teaching A-Level Biology; however, all specialisms will be considered.
