The Accounts Assistant is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day transactions in the Finance department. This role requires strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. This is crucial to allow financial reporting deadlines to be met and for senior management to be able to make decisions based upon timely and reliable Information.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Sales ledger transactional postings, including raising invoices, credit notes.
  • Responsible for the Purchase ledger transactional postings, including invoice processing.
  • Full responsibility for posting and reconciling the bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Support the Finance Team with process improvement projects and initiatives. For example, automating the sales invoice processing and introduction of a PO system.
  • Assist Finance Team with statutory reporting requirements including VAT returns and Year end accounts.
  • Support as necessary chasing customer payments.
  • Assist Finance Team with ad-hoc tasks.
  • All daily transactional work to be completed by midday on the first WD of the month to enable Management accounts to be produced by 4 WD of the month.
  • Ensure all customer and supplier queries are dealt with in a timely manner to avoid any disputes or disruption to services.
  • All finance systems to be always kept fully up to date and accurate.
  • Work to be completed in an efficient manner.
