We are looking for enthusiastic and aspiring Graduate Data Analysts, who enjoy working with numbers, to join the Pricing teams in of our various Insurance products of our multi-award-winning business in 2024.

What do Pricing do?

Our Pricing Department is a fundamental cornerstone of the successful growth of our business. Pricing determine and adjust the prices we charge our customers through logic-based reasoning and statistical analysis.

Pricing Analysts will build and run pricing models and make recommendations for rate changes and are responsible for setting the rates which create competitive prices for our customers.

As a Graduate in Pricing, you could be involved in

  • Running pricing models using statistical tools and understanding the numbers within those models
  • Having responsibility for making proposals for potential improvements to our products’ rating structure and other business-critical decision-making processes
  • Unearthing value from both in-house and external data sets by cooperatively finding correlations in customer behaviour and fraudulent activity
  • Working together with our colleagues, including teams overseas, to make proposals to improve the pricing structure in our international operations

About you

Qualifications

  • 2.1 or above in a Mathematical degree
  • If you do not have a Mathematics degree, we are open to other STEM disciplines, subject to demonstrating a solid numerical academic background, which is essential for this role

Attributes & skills

  • Demonstrable ability to combine analytical thinking based on numbers, together with common sense and imagination
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to dive into detail

This position is heavily based on Mathematical and Analytical skills required for a Data Analyst role in Pricing. This is not a Data Science or Actuarial role. If you are seeking these, there may be other opportunities available throughout the year and you can sign up to receive job alerts. 

Location/Hybrid working

We have a hybrid working approach, in this role you are expected to attend the office regularly in Ty Admiral, Cardiff during your training period (please note, travel expenses are not covered).

Following your training period, you will be expected to attend the office 1 time per week, however, this is subjective and could be more often due to things such as training requirements, team days, team meetings etc. 

This role requires solid commitment to travel to Cardiff, or to relocate to Cardiff, to manage expectations. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.
