The role

The purpose of this role is to produce and improve the use / management of all buying data and reporting. You will support core business activities and deliver company and client value.

Main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Working in the Buying Team
  • Producing reports and analysis in a timely manner to support the management of suppliers
  • Supporting the automation of reporting within the procurement function, to drive reporting efficiencies
  • Supporting business development through analysis of dataMaintaining reporting dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing analytical support to help deliver company sustainability objectives, including calculating ESG impact
  • Producing supplier price comparisons to identify and deliver savings opportunities to release value for clients
  • Monitoring supplier price file accuracy on catering control platforms
  • Supporting the Procurement Manager with analytical projects to meet agreed timelines
  • Collaborating and effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to quickly understand and react to client needs.

Essential requirements

  • Have excellent analytical and mathematical skills, demonstrated by either studying towards or holding a relevant maths or analytics qualification / course
  • Be able to confidently analyse and manipulate data
  • Have strong computer skills, particularly advanced Excel; including being able to use spreadsheets, tables, functions such as Lookups, IF statements, report creation and formatting
  • Be solution orientated and have a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude and a real desire to learn and develop
  • A team player - able to work as part of a busy team, supporting your colleagues positively
  • Be able to self-motivate and work with limited micro/hands-on day-to-day management
  • Displaying a growth mindset and eagerness to learn
  • There are no public transport links to our office, therefore holding a valid driving licence and owning (or having access to) a car or other mode of private transport is essential to be able to commute and attend ad-hoc offsite meetings!

Desirable requirements

  • An interest in the food industry and in sustainable diets
  • An understanding of Excel macros and/or VBA
  • The ability to identify opportunities to be able automate data and drive efficiencies
  • Experience or an interest in data visualisation.

The contract

  • Full-time, fixed-term 1 year contract from August 2024. There is potential for this to become a permanent role should it suit both the successful candidate and the company, at the end of year 1!
  • 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday 08:45 – 17:15 (with an early finish on Friday at 16:15). Eligible for flexi-time working requests upon completion of probation.
  • Work location: Head Office - SN13 0NY
  • Salary: £22,050 - £25,000 per annum DOE

Interviews to take place in May / June 2024 (however we can be flexible if you are taking exams / assessments at this time!). We are looking for the successful candidate to be able to start during the month of August.
