Summary
The R&D Engineer II contributes to the front-end development of a new cloud-based electric vehicle simulation package. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals and use technical and problem-solving skills to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
As a graduate with a good degree in computer science or a related field and some commercial front-end development experience, you will join a growing and dynamic team to develop class-leading software. You will be a self-starter, responsible for managing your own tasks and working collaboratively. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your software skills to make a big impact in electric vehicle design and sustainable clean energy products.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Perform development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of a front-end codebase
- Understand and employ best practices
- Perform bug verification and resolution, testing and beta support
- Participates and contributes to regular planning meetings
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions
- Work in a team under the general supervision of a lead developer
About you
Minimum education, certification requirements and experience
- BSc in Computer Science, Physics, Maths, Engineering, or related field (2:1 or above)
- Commercial experience of front-end software development (1+ years)
- Passion for creating high-quality UIs built on robust and efficient code
Preferred qualifications and skills
- Proficiency in TypeScript
- Experience working with the Angular framework
- Experience working with multiple data sources like REST API, WebSockets and custom web assembly libraries
- Exposure to software development processes and technology including automated testing and version control
- Knowledge of UI/UX design and best principles
- Strong aptitude in Physics and Mathematics
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
