Why this role?

This role sits within our large operations function, as part of our risk and resilience team. A pivotal team responsible for keeping Arqiva safe. Within this role you will be part of a great team of health and safety experts, who are all passionate about ensuring safety of our colleagues, contractors and the general public.

You will be a critical part of the dedicated Health, Safety and Environmental team, working closely with experienced radiofrequency safety engineers to ensure understanding of exposure levels and implementing methods of working safely in high risk situations. It is an exciting, multi-dimensional role, where no two days will likely be the same. Whilst on our graduate scheme you will learn skills that will enable you to deliver in a RF Engineer position, such as:

  • Scheduling and undertaking ionising radiation surveys.
  • Undertake RF surveys and RF modelling
  • Undertake RF feasibility assessments of new or changes to RF systems in line with Arqiva policies
  • Maintain RF models, policies and procedures
  • Respond to onsite incidents e.g RF alarms, investigate and provide support and information to resolve
  • Deliver effective proactive and professional RF advice and support to the business
  • Translating technical information into easily understood safe ways of working

What do we need from you?

  • Minimum 2:2 degree in RF Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications engineering or similar related degree.
  • A genuine interest in radio frequency engineering and safety, health and environment
  • A genuine interest in technology
  • Passion for keeping people safe and well
  • A willingness to learn complex technologies and develop in the role
  • Good analytical and logical problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
