About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Marketing Data Analyst to join the Data and Insight Team at Bark. The team plays a pivotal role within Bark providing recommendations, insight and strategy to internal stakeholders across the business.

In particular, we’re looking for somebody who has experience in leveraging insights and analytics and ideally you have experience working in a marketplace business.

Your focus will primarily be within the Marketing function with the objective of understanding performance and utilising our data to enable smarter business decisions as we work to make Bark the destination site for professional services globally. You will be curious by nature and want to dig deep to understand the behaviours of our users on both sides of the Bark marketplace.

You will be aligned with the Marketing team and as such, will need to develop a broader understanding of all facets of the business. This can include but is not limited to, showcasing results of different experiments, providing recommendations on how these can support cross-functional departments, and collaborating on areas for improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide insight and recommendations backed by analysis to the Marketing team
  • Collaborate with the wider Marketing team to identify key priorities and support strategic decision making
  • Assist in the design, implementation and reporting on analysis enabling Marketing initiatives, experiments and strategy
  • Investigate performance in marketing channels / platforms, finding the root cause of performance issues and providing recommendations on how to resolve and drive sales effectiveness
  • Be the go to person for marketing reporting and dashboards

Required skills and experience

  • Advanced Google Standard SQL and MySQL or similar relational database language
  • Familiarity with Google BigQuery or other data warehouse solution
  • Experience with Tableau; creating & managing data sources and converting complex insights into a digestible format
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets experience
  • Proven track record working with Marketing teams
  • Experience with CRM experimentation and reporting.
  • Wider knowledge of marketing metrics and data sources relating to paid and organic search, display, video and/or social and affiliates
  • Strong strategic capability, able to understand market landscape, use data to identify growth opportunities, identify and formulate plans to achieve a set of defined goals

Desirable skills and experience

  • Fluency in Python and its application in data analysis
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics or other web based analytical tools (e.g. Heap Analytics)
  • Experience using BitBucket and working collaboratively on a centralised code repository
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment to deliver high quality analysis
  • Experience with different measurement & attribution methods (e.g. UTM tracking, multi-touch attribution)
