As a Solutions Analyst in the Business Solutions team within IT, you will be responsible for the delivery of quality application support that help our users and clients solve commercial challenges and drive efficiency within the firm. You will be part of a team responsible for configuring key business software applications, ensuring that the solutions deliver their full potential.

This important role within the Business Solutions Team will be a technical specialist for the Firm's continuous improvement and support of core business applications. A hands-on role that requires the Analyst to understand the business context of the problem and quickly find solutions within agreed timelines to the end user.

The Information Technology department is currently delivering a project portfolio that is on the back of unprecedented investment in technology for the firm. Reporting to the Applications team leader the Solutions Analyst will have responsibility for the maintenance, configuration and upgrading of the core business systems.

Responsibilites

  • Working as part of a team, both proactively and collaboratively, to ensure the successful delivery of IT and business projects
  • Troubleshooting of complex support tickets
  • Assist with installation and configuration of in-house developed and 3rd party solutions
  • Respond and troubleshoot critical outages in conjunction with 3rd party suppliers
  • Maintain, support and continue to develop SharePoint and begin to introduce more automation through Microsoft power suite
  • Monitoring and maintaining the health of key business systems and managing the portfolio of change for these key systems and be the technical lead on related projects;
  • Development support – support the Service Delivery team by troubleshooting complex incidents that have been escalated to the Business Solutions team;
  • Ensuring technical solutions are succinctly documented and release procedures are followed;
  • Building relationships with the IT Service Delivery team to understand pressures of support, analysing problems and helping to define projects that deliver real benefits to end users;
  • Assisting stakeholders gain a clear vision for each project and working with others in the team to ensure that the vision is technically achievable

Skills and experience

  • Technical graduate with ideally some experience of designing, developing, supporting, delivering and maintaining bespoke business applications.
  • Willingness to be flexible in the technology and methodology used deliver projects depending on the requirement and timescale.
  • Ability to think logically, analyse situations and solve technical problems.
  • A good understanding of SharePoint and Microsoft’s power platform
  • Any knowledge of SQL or PowerShell would be desirable
  • A positive approach to customer focus and service improvement.
  • Knowledge of application ecosystems – installation, desktops, networks, databases, servers, IIS, Security.
  • Ideally the role will also have a technically understanding and maybe some experience of integration services, working with integration technologies such as REST API s/SOAP/sFTP/SSIS.
  • Commercial awareness and inquisitiveness that allows you to understand the challenges faced by the firm and its clients and develop solutions to match.
  • Ability to quickly identify projects that may be at risk, communicating early to manage expectations accordingly.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-starter with an inquisitive mind and an ability to apply knowledge to new situations and environments
  • Has an innovation mind-set, with the willingness to experiment and explore new ways of delivering technology solutions.
  • Configures applications with security in mind, protecting data at all times.
