Computershare has multiple great opportunities to join our Technology Services team as a Junior Software Developer in the UK. We are searching for a multitude of skill sets and seeking out all levels of aptitude. This role sits within a global team who are going through a growth period, continuing to build out their strategic vision.

A role you will love

As one of our Junior Developers, you will be working with our wider technical teams to develop high quality, secure, stable, and reliable software. You will work within a community of Developers promoting innovation and sharing knowledge from across the globe.

Working within an Agile team, you will work closely with your peers to produce clean code for applications which support our business units. You will work with a variety of different stakeholders to understand requirements and gather feedback on what is produced. Further expectations of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Coding, testing, and installing applications in a range of products across platforms.
  • Assisting in the design of applications and databases within standards and guidelines. Conducting technical reviews to ensure that designs are adhered to and all relevant standards are being met and processes followed.
  • Make regular contributions to team knowledge base, product wiki and support documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate documentation, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills

What will you bring to the role?

You’ll be comfortable working under your own initiative, with an analytical mindset and a passion for solving problems.

You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to build solid working relationships with people at all levels. Collaboration is key in this role, therefore a desire to work within a team environment will be important.

Of course, the main thing that we are looking for is a passion for coding and development! You’ll have a thirst for knowledge and will always look at ways to improve what we do and grow your own knowledge. Some key skills you may have include:

  • Some knowledge of .NET/.Net Core, JavaScript Frameworks
  • Exposure to and some knowledge technologies such as MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, KnockoutJS, ReactJS, Linq, ASP.NET, Ajax
  • Knowledge of Angular or React may also be an advantage
  • Experience with Agile or Continuous Delivery approaches.
  • Demonstrated Experience and expertise in UI design and implementation is highly regarded
  • Exposure working with cloud technologies, such as Azure or AWS would be considered a plus.

As this is a junior role, we’re not looking for you to have all of the above, but more importantly a positive attitude to learn.
