Dentons' Legal Operations Graduate Programme is an innovative and forward-thinking initiative designed to develop the next leaders in the legal operations field.

Over the course of two years, participants will experience three rotational placements across key operational areas: Legal Project Management, Commercial Analysis and Innovation.

This programme not only offers a comprehensive introduction to key disciplines within legal operations but also provides a pathway to a potential permanent position within our firm, contingent upon business needs and individual performance.

Programme structure

  • Training: The programme begins with a four-week full time course delivered by the University of Law and Positive Pricing, created in collaboration with a consortium of leading law firms. This foundational course provides Graduates with a high-level understanding of the primary legal operations disciplines, an introduction to law, and a valuable opportunity to network with industry peers.
  • Rotational Placements: Graduates will rotate through our Legal Project Management, Pricing and Innovation teams, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to real-world projects.
  • Mentorship and Support: Graduates will receive guidance and mentorship from experienced Legal Operations professionals throughout their rotations, being assigned a 'buddy' to guide them through each rotation.
  • Opportunity for Permanent Role: Graduates demonstrating their skills and value to the team, will have the prospect of securing a permanent position upon completion of the programme.

Innovation

At Dentons innovation isn’t something that sits in isolation – Dentons rely on everyone to be innovative in order to leverage its position as the world’s largest law firm and continue to grow and improve. Dentons structures itself to identify and implement innovation across all areas of service delivery to its clients.

As a result, Graduates will be expected to collaborate on cutting-edge projects that blend law with technology, process improvement, and creative problem-solving.

Graduates will help design and implement innovative solutions that enhance the firm's services, streamline operations, and deliver quality value to clients. Graduates can expect to experience tasks such as automating legal processes, analysing data to inform strategic decisions and researching emerging legal tech.

Legal Project Management

Great lawyers are able to understand how everything fits together, from managing projects profitably to really getting under the skin of clients and their businesses. It’s not just knowing them, it’s understanding what they stand for and using that insight to inform the delivery approach. During the LPM seat, Graduates will experience a rotational placement where law meets strategy.

Graduates will learn to master the art of managing complex legal projects -planning, executing, and monitoring, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Graduates will gain hands-on experience in resource allocation, workflow coordination, and client communication, all while utilising the latest in project management software and methodologies.

Commercial Analysis/Pricing

During a Graduate's Commercial Analysis and Pricing seat they will address the exciting challenge of developing pricing strategies that align with client expectations and firm goals.

Graduates will analyse market trends, forecast financial outcomes, and craft bespoke pricing models that enhance the firm's competitive edge. This seat is the opportunity to blend analytical prowess with commercial acumen. A graduate eager to experience the business of law will be particularly suited to this seat.
