Fife Ethylene Plant is one of Europe’s largest and most modern ethylene plants. The plant currently provides work for around 500 personnel and has capacity to produce 830,000 tonnes of ethylene each year. Safety, Health and Environmental excellence are fundamental in everything we do and we are proud of our performance and commitment in these areas.

We are currently seeking to recruit 8 Process Technicians to join our shift teams. Process Technicians are responsible for the safe, reliable operation of their operating plant. If you have a ‘can do’ attitude, a second-to-none work ethic and relevant experience within the petrochemical, oil, gas, utilities, or other process industries, we would like to hear from you!

What you will do

  • Working a 12hr shift pattern - 2 days, 2 nights, 4 rest days for 3 cycles followed by 10 rest days
  • Operating plant equipment to run the plant safely, efficiently and economically
  • Safely preparing plant equipment for maintenance activities
  • Monitoring the operation and diagnosing faults, performing start-up and shutdowns of plant
  • Developing to operating the plant from the Central Control Room
  • Responding to incidents, hazardous conditions or emergencies

About you

We will invest in you, starting with 12 weeks of comprehensive Technician Training delivered by on-site experts. Ongoing training and development will ensure you have the skills and knowledge to succeed in your role. Opportunities for career progression in technical or leadership roles will exist for high performing Technicians.

Preferred qualifications & experience

Applicants should preferably have completed further education (HNC/HND or equivalent) in a relevant science or engineering. Candidates with exceptional skills and career references may also be considered with good general high school education e.g. Standard grade(1-3)/National 5 A-C (or equivalent) in English, Maths and either Physics or Chemistry.
