We are recruiting graduates for our Chartered Accountant training programme 2024, to be based in the audit teams within our Edinburgh office. The position will initially be offered on a three-year fixed-term training contract.  With continued support and mentoring, we aim to make the transition from university to work life as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

What you will do

During your training contract, you will be:

  • Given the opportunity early on to work on a variety of clients, ranging from owner managed businesses to major family-owned and multinational companies and not for profit organisations 
  • Developing your business advisory skills through our HL Training Academy
  • Covering a variety of tasks, enabling you to grow personally as well as professionally
  • Working in a busy, high performing team, constantly learning from those around you as part of your on-the-job trainin
  • Given study and exam leave to ensure you pass your exams
  • Supported throughout your training contract, both financially and by people who have successfully completed the ICAS qualification

What we are looking for

  • A good level of education and academic ability (Minimum 2:1, any subject)
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
  • A demonstrable interest in business and financial issues
  • A well-developed sense of client service
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A proactive and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Works well under pressure and rises to a challenge
