The role

IG Group is seeking an ambitious undergraduate completing a finance, accounting, or business-related degree to join an 11-month, fully paid industrial placement where you can experience the inner workings of a FTSE 250 Internal Audit department.

What you’ll do

You will work within the Internal Audit team, that is made up of 15 staff based in the UK, Poland and South Africa. The role of the team is to review and assess the risk to the business and the controls they operate. They do this by conducting audits of key business areas and identifying gaps and issues. 

The role can be tailored to the successful candidate's skills and interests. Depending on your background and experience you could join the IT audit team and review technology activities including software development, IT operations and cyber security, or focus more on financial, operational and compliance auditing.

The role will grant the successful candidate the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within an enterprise-wide function that is responsible for assessing / auditing the risk and control environment that enables the success of the business, through:

  • Attending meetings with stakeholders
  • Documenting walkthroughs of business activities
  • Assessing risk and testing of control activities
  • Learning/developing data analytics skills and the expansion of AI capabilities/ techniques.

What you’ll need for this role

  • Interest in financial services and ideally experience in trading the IG suite of products.
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to absorb and process new information.
  • Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Working model: hybrid (3 office days per week)

Throughout your 11-month placement, you’ll get exposure to a wide breadth of the business's activity including strategy, commercial development, back-office operations, finance, risk management and compliance.   

Following your induction, you will be assigned a line manager who will support and coach you throughout your industrial placement. You’ll attend training courses alongside our graduates and have access to a huge range of IG learning and development resources. You’ll be part of a larger community of graduates which is a fantastic opportunity to grow your network.
