The role

Lubricants Technology provides solutions for road transport, marine and power generation that create value for Infineum, our customers and end users. It enables engine technology to advance in ways that allows the world to keep moving as resources become increasingly valuable and diverse, in a transforming world transitioning toward sustainability. Engineering group delivers high quality and innovative test solutions, engine technology insight, and product performance testing services to the Product Innovation and Product Development departments, and influences industry specifications via membership of industry bodies.

Key outputs:

  • Generate innovative solutions for lubricant testing
  • Develop and translate engineering understanding and knowledge to Chemists and Chemical Engineers for the development of oils for new and existing combustion engines including LD, HDD and Marine applications
  • Assist colleagues in the Engineering team with critical technology projects
  • Partner with external engineering consultancies where project scope goes beyond current internal capabilities or competencies
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal & external audiences that influence preferred outcomes

A successful candidate is likely to have

  • The objective to follow a (or applicants to the) Master’s Degree at IFP School in MOT, PWT or PRO
  • A deep interest in engines and powertrains, some knowledge on lubrication would be advantageous
  • An awareness of the main drivers steering the transport industry
  • An innovative mind inspired by finding out why things work and the ability to apply different tactics to solve problems
  • The ability to analyse and interpret technical data, to form sound technical judgements and to test hypotheses
