The role of the Treasury Assistant is to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring of various financial activities, including bank uploads, clearing accounts management, and balance sheet reconciliations.

This position requires attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Working on the Treasury Mailbox (es) by the resolution of queries and enquiries, which may include the processing of credit notes and customer refunds.
  • Confirming current account balances with Treasury counterparts.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for bank or current account-related inquiries and changes, including the update and maintenance of bank mandates.
  • Upload of bank statement transactions into the ERP system ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness around the recording of transactions.
  • Monitoring and reconciliation of clearing accounts, and to investigate and resolve discrepancies in balances, liaising as appropriate with the Global Treasury Team.
  • Be a backup for the Payment Run Approval, by reviewing and approving payment runs to ensure accuracy and compliance, verifying payment instructions and supporting documentation prior to processing.  Liaising with AP and other stakeholders to resolve any payment-related issues.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations - Banks:
    • Conduct regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts.
    • Investigate and resolve variances identified during the reconciliation process.
    • Prepare accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliation reports.
  • Input data for Key Performance Indicators relating to the Treasury activities.
  • Provide external auditors with information and explanations relating to the financial accounts as requested.
  • Undertake problem-solving in areas relevant to primary duties.
  • Follow and encourage others within the business to follow set procedures and processes.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience working in a Shared Service Centre environment, preferably within a global matrix organisation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional attitude and fully appreciative of the confidentiality
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of banking procedures and regulatory requirements.
