The role

With a number of significant growth programmes underway, MAG are undertaking a radical transformation of our Technology landscape, to ensure that our systems and data can best support the organisation in to the future; this includes a wholesale Transformation programme across the Group.

The role purpose is to identify business intelligence requirements by engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation, ultimately expressing the requirements as report designs, data needs and analysis solutions that will be used across the group for all key decision making, from operational real-time reports, to key executive dashboards that will drive business direction. Working closely with key stakeholders across the group and IT teams, the role turns data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.

Throughout your three year programme you will have the opportunity to develop the skills below

Year 1

  • Become familiar with cloud and cloud based concepts, all very theory based with some practical tests
  • Develop an understanding of a true hybrid approach to cloud and on-premise
  • Work towards AWS Cloud Practitioner within 6 months, and AWS Solutions Architect by the end of year 1, focusing on areas such as:
    • Patching
    • Vulnerabilities
    • Containerisation
    • Networking
    • User management
    • Cloud Governance
    • Kafka and Event Driven Architecture

Year 2

  • Building off the progress in year one, work towards AWS SysOps Associate
  • Start being more hands on, working on live projects and tickets
  • Become more autonomous and proficient in project work

Year 3

  • Developing out any specifically that the graduate wishes to focus on, from the likes of:
    • Solutions Architecture
    • DevOps Professional
    • Cyber Security
    • Machine Learning and AI
    • Networking
  • Become more involved with decision making within the process of a project

What will make you successful in this role

You’ll need to be a quick thinker, a natural problem-solver, and comfortable communicating ideas to interdisciplinary teams, as well as helping coach and support less-experienced team members. Become a high flyer at MAG, and watch your career take to the sky.

Lastly, to meet our security clearance requirements, you should have lived in the UK for the last three years.
