What is the overall job

Reporting into the IT Technical Support Manager, this person is responsible for delivering IT technical support (covering end user compute) and associated processes, procedures and technologies adopted within Multiplex IT. The role is customer facing with the majority of working hours spent visiting and supporting all construction sites within geographical region. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting project portfolio execution (e.g. OS Upgrades, Mobile Device Management Roll out, Software and Asset Management)
  • Supporting the site setup process through tasking coordinated by Technical teams, Team Leader and Site Setup Coordinator teams
  • General server maintenance, administration and basic networking activities
  • Provide support to all IT users by investigating and resolving computer hardware and software related issues, from level 1 through to level 3 at Head Offices and construction sites as required
  • Deliver computers to clients, performing computer imaging, installation and data transfer between old and new machines
  • Perform setup and basic troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment (computer, projector, digital whiteboards and virtual conferencing systems such as Teams Meeting Room Devices)
  • Work collaboratively with other IT teams (network services, systems management and/or applications development) to correctly identify and address problems, and restore service

What do I need to be successful in this role

This role would suit a recently graduated IT professional looking to grow their career and that we can provide on the job training. It would be great if you had some knowledge in Desktop Device Support for MS Windows, MS Office, Apple Operating Systems and iOS mobile devices. Other key skills and experience will include:

  • Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
  • Strong dedication to customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, especially the ability to listen and understand what is being described, with attention to detail in transcribing communications to business colleagues and into the ticketing systems
  • Knowledge in laptop repair, enterprise workstation deployment and configuration, troubleshooting client network connectivity issues
  • Knowledge of an IT ticketing system (e.g. ServiceNow) and remote assistance tools such as Remote Desktop Connection or TeamViewer
