The Audio team is a small and friendly group who are passionate about creating high-quality audiobooks. We are the champions of the spoken word at Pan Macmillan and work closely with the Editorial, Communications and Sales teams to publish award-winning audiobooks.

The Audio Editorial Assistant is an essential part of the team. You will work closely with your colleagues and navigate all areas of the publishing process from acquisition to the planning, creation and distribution of our audiobooks.

Your key responsibilities

  • Creating and checking metadata on in-house systems
  • Checking audiobook files before delivery to retailers
  • Checking and updating schedules for the team
  • Responding to queries from retailers and colleagues
  • Sending scripts to actors, producers and studios and arranging paperwork for recordings
  • Supporting the Audio team with casting audiobooks and visiting the studios during the audiobook recordings
  • Creating audio assets for social media and marketing

About you

  • An interest in audiobooks.
  • Excellent administration skills with the ability to multi-task and work on several projects at the same time
  • The ability to work in a small group as well as engaging with a wider team
  • Be organised and able to work to a deadline
  • Familiarity with Gmail and Google applications
  • A willingness to learn in-house database systems

Desirable skills we’d love you to have:

  • Knowledge of audio editing systems
