Renishaw is seeking to recruit a Sales Engineer, to work in our Spectroscopy Products Division. This person will provide a supporting role to our sales managers covering UK and Ireland, Nordic, and rest of world territories as well as direct selling in these regions. This role is ideal for someone that has technical knowledge of Raman spectroscopy and/or scientific instrumentation and wants to transition their career in the direction of sales. This post will require extensive travel across these territories.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to the existing UK-based Sales Managers
  • Generating new business and exploring potential new applications.
  • Building new customer relationships and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
  • Providing commercial and technical solutions to customers.
  • Preparing quotes, technical information packs and answering tenders.
  • Measuring customer samples and conducting customer demonstrations.
  • Organising local marketing activity such as seminars and attending relevant conferences and exhibitions.
  • Keeping accurate customer records in CRM and ensuring quotes and call reports are prepared and stored in line with company procedures.
  • Maintaining regular communication with Production, Service and Applications to ensure prompt responses to customer enquiries.

Requirements

  • A degree in a STEM related subject
  • Technical knowledge of spectroscopy and its applications
  • A full driving licence
  • Ability and interest to travel in the UK and Ireland and internationally for 30%

Desirable requirements

  • Previous commercial experience in the spectroscopy market
  • Technical knowledge of Raman spectroscopy
  • A related PhD

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, organised, and have an attention to detail in their work. The individual will be personable and a good communicator, both verbally and in writing. They will be able to engage in technical conversation with customers, influence others and demonstrate sound judgement. Finally, they will be able to have a positive and confident attitude and deliver a high standard of customer service.
