RLB offers a range of Built Asset Consultancy services a key specialism in our team is Fire Advisory. Our fire consultants work proactively with our client’s to provide solutions to their fire safety problems. We manage, inspect, formulate designs and specification, provide fire strategies, plus other bespoke strategic services to ensure our client’s estates remain well maintained and achieve their potential in terms of efficient fire safety management.

Within our national Fire Advisory team, we have an experienced group of people, from a range of backgrounds, skilled in the delivery of a wide range of fire safety services. In addition to the services, we deliver directly to our clients the team provides advice to the wider business both regionally and nationally on all things fire safety.

Due to the increased success of our approach with our existing and forming relationships with new clients we have a need for an additional team member help to join our services.

Overview of role

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Fire Consultant to join our team in Yorkshire Humber and the North East.

This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre candidate to join and strengthen our team. The role will be an excellent opportunity for a proactive problem solver to progress their career within our fire consultancy team. Gaining experience and providing services from within our existing team.

Key responsibilities

  • To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
  • To ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, safety, Security and Quality Standards.
  • To deliver value for money in all circumstances

Professional skills

  • To assist with undertaking fire risk assessments across a variety of property types ranging from residential, healthcare, custodial, education and commercial
  • To assist with undertaking fire integrity / compartmentation surveys to identify breaches, proposed remedial repairs through to preparation of specification and design
  • To support activities providing design and specification services
  • To assist in fire safety advisor roles within large property portfolios

Person specification

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results. They will be passionate about fire safety and will strive to provide the upmost quality on every commission.

  • Experience delivery Fire Risk Assessment
  • Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification
  • Fire related degree - preferred
  • Knowledge of current and incoming UK fire safety legislation
  • Client facing, ensuring high standards of technical delivery
  • Able to build long-term relationships.
  • A team player, outgoing, flexible and motivated
