As a Development Engineer, you’ll support our Test & Validation department of Core Development and Engineering function based in Lincoln, supporting our Industrial Turbo-machinery business within Siemens Energy. You will support department’s mission 'To deliver diverse scientific & engineering solutions to enable validation of current & evolving products’.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Support the planning and execution of research and development rig test and engine test programs to completion within budget and on time.
  • Support the planning and supervision of the build and installation of engines and rigs for validation tests.
  • Support the thermal measurement lab in preparation of components for subsequent tests, post-processing of the results and reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of our innovative thermal measurement roadmap.
  • Prepare material and participate in product development (PDP) reviews.
  • Dissemination of information by report and presentation.
  • Work as a team to complete a given scope of work in accordance with our standards and expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain good communication and professional relationship with the team and the supervisor.
  • Ensure the maintenance of order, cleanliness, and safety at work.
  • Respect the EHS rules at company level.

What you bring

  • Degree level in engineering or a related subject area and have exposure to gas turbine engineering. Newly qualified individuals are welcome to apply.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or related subjects or relevant experience is beneficial.
  • Background in heat transfer and/or ‘measurement & testing’ is an added advantage.
  • Experience/exposure to CFD is beneficial.
  • Experience or knowledge across a range of gas turbine related subjects would be advantageous.
  • Have a CEng or equivalent status or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience in decision making and exercising technical judgement.
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience in problem-solving
  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills
  • Positive attitude, open-minded and willing to learn & constantly improve own skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to utilise your skills in other areas within the function.
  • IT competency
