We are looking for a graduate Design Engineer to join our 2024 development programme and help us shape the future of Skanska.

Skanska Technology provides a diverse mix of professional services including civil engineering, structural engineering, infrastructure design, green consultancy, project management services, air quality consultancy, Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) consultancy and noise and vibration advisory services.

The industry is modernising and so are we. We invite applications from passionate free thinkers who aren’t constrained by how things are currently done and can bring a fresh perspective to our business.

In return, Skanska can provide a great foundation on which to build your career with us: we will help you develop your technical skills by working alongside, and being mentored by, our technical experts working on some of the most challenging projects in the UK.

The diversity of our projects will also equip you with wide-ranging skills you need in this exciting industry. A snapshot of our current projects include:

  • civil engineering design on HS2
  • structural engineering advice on major infrastructure projects such as the Lower Thames Crossing
  • providing green consultancy and carbon reduction advice for major projects in the rail and water sectors
  • designing water treatment facilities for Anglian Water
  • designing steel plants or major electrical substations for some of our external clients.

Our two-year graduate programme will allow you to work with staff from other parts of Skanska to solve a range of business critical challenges, allowing you to develop your business skills in parallel with your technical skills and build a professional network to carry into your future career with Skanska.

You will also join our ICE approved training scheme and will be supported and mentored in your professional development by our in house Supervising Civil Engineers.

In combination, we will equip you with the technical skills, business skills, guidance, and mentor support to achieve your full potential and to become a professionally qualified Civil Engineer.
