The Role
As part of the billing team within Finance business support, you will provide high-quality service and support to our external clients and to the firm legal teams by:-
- Reviewing and reconciling completion statements
- Reconciling matter ledgers
- Transferring and posting receipts in accordance with the SRA rules
- Processing cheques and electronic receipts.
- Processing credit card receipts.
- Reconciling Legal Aid statements and receipts
- Processing client invoices and credit notes on behalf of the legal teams.
- Calculate interest due on client balances.
- Process file closing
- Process WIP and Disbursement write offs.
- You will deal directly with clients and legal team members to resolve queries.
About You
- You are highly organised, have excellent numeracy skills and committed to meeting deadlines while paying attention to detail.
- You are used to working in a busy and highly professional driven environment, including being proficient using Word, Excel and Outlook.
- You will have a good working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, however training will be given.
- Use of Aderant PMS or other legal practice management or accounting system is advantageous.
- You can work as part of a team, as well as working on your own initiative.
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail with a strong focus on providing exceptional client care.
- Previous experience working in a legal practice, finance team, or dealing with private and public funded work of a commercial business would be advantageous.
