Within SUEZ, the Smart & Environmental Solutions (SES) Business Line aims to accelerate the development and deployment of smart and environmental solutions on a global scale: digital solutions for water and waste, solutions for air quality and climate, for the performance of drinking water networks and wastewater systems, as well as for environmental quality monitoring.

The teams in this Business Line contribute, along with the Group's geographical entities, to supporting local authorities and companies in their environmental transition, as well as citizens to facilitate their access to a more sustainable consumption.

Purpose of the role/description

We are looking for a Graduate Engineer who is interested in applying their education to help fix real world problems. The role involves taking the real world characteristics of water networks and configuring a digital equivalent in order to optimise performance. You’ll also be playing a part in making the world a cleaner and better place.

Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week Mon to Fri, 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.

Main responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of the Smart Solutions technologies.
  • Responsibilities during the different stages of the project includes support to:
  • Collection of data from clients and analysing the data to reach conclusions
  • Design meetings, incl. Operations Review Workshop and data gathering
  • Assist in concept design as required
  • Hydraulic model skeletonisation and calibration
  • Design Report assistance, mainly in producing supporting material, Excel graphs etc
  • Configuration of the Aquadvanced database, mainly pump curves, tank dimensions and demand curves, but may include additional tasks set by the project manager on an as required basis
  • Assist with Solution testing and documentation
  • Assist during software installation and commissioning

Which skills and experiences you will need to succeed in this role?

Qualifications required

  • BEng, particularly Mechanical or Civil

Experience required

  • Solid experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, familiarity with VBA useful
  • Optimisation/software programming experience desirable but not essential
  • Some SQL database experience preferred but not essential
  • Prefer familiarity with hydraulic modelling tools, EPANET or similar desirable not essential
