Anthesis’ business intelligence team is seeking a highly motivated graduate to join our team of investigative due diligence researchers. The successful candidate will have completed (or will be studying towards) a qualitative research degree – in history, politics, languages or other similar fields – and be fluent in a foreign language.

We are interested in candidates with fluency in a variety of languages, particularly Arabic, Turkish, Spanish, and Portuguese.

In order to apply for this role will we require to you to submit a sample of your writing alongside your CV and personal summary, which you'll be able to do in the relevant section of the application form.

Key responsibilities

Analysts begin their career within the team specialising in open source due diligence work. These reports provide an overview of major compliance red flags associated with a target company or individual, such as corruption, political exposure, and sanctions. Typically, analysts will work on reports from multiple jurisdictions, before progressing on to region-specific reports based on language and regional expertise: our aim is to train confident due diligence researchers able to navigate complicated, cross-border issues. Analysts might spend their morning researching a high-profile legal dispute in the US, before turning their attention to unravelling an obscure offshore corporate structure in the afternoon.

Once fully trained, analysts will expand the scope of their work – taking on more complicated projects in conjunction with senior staff; developing regional expertise in regulatory and compliance risks; training new members of staff; and taking on business development responsibilities. For exceptional candidates, our analyst role lays the foundations for career progression at Anthesis.

Skills, knowledge and expertise

We require as a minimum these skills, qualifications and experience:

  • A professional work ethic. We are particularly interested in candidates with a demonstrable self-starter attitude, who take pride in their work and responsibility for driving their own learning and development.
  • A basic understanding of and interest in due diligence and compliance risks – experience in a commercial research context is highly desirable;
  • Fluency reading and writing English in a commercial context;
  • Excellent research and writing skills: attention to detail, and an ability to identify and summarise information from various sources under time pressure;
  • Time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines;
  • Fluency in at least one foreign language. As outlined above, we are particularly interested in candidates with languages such as Arabic/Turkish/Spanish/Portuguese;
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university; and
  • Professional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.

Candidates should also have demonstrable skills in the following areas:
