About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Internal Communications & Engagement Coordinator to spearhead our internal engagement and communications efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping our staff informed of company news, driving participation in people projects, promoting staff wellbeing, and championing our community outreach initiatives.

Role accountabilities

  • Lead the creation and delivery of all internal communications across our sites
  • Plan and execute internal communications and engagement campaigns to foster connection and collaboration
  • Understand and address engagement challenges to cultivate a cohesive team environment and enhance retention
  • Develop campaigns to promote and embed our company values
  • Promote cross-departmental communication, ensuring consistency and timeliness in messaging
  • Remain continuously aware of industry trends to optimise our communication strategy's effectiveness
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to be a brand champion, upholding brand consistency and tone
  • Work with team members to Identify internal news and success stories for use internally and share with our marketing team to use externally
  • Create and maintain a calendar of diversity and inclusion initiatives, devising innovative ways to educate and engage employees
  • Monitor and communicate volunteering opportunities to our staff through our community outreach app to drive staff engagement and community impact.

What you’ll bring to toob

  • Demonstrated understanding of internal communication principles and practices
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to craft engaging and informative written content
  • Expertise in driving engagement and performance through internal communication strategies
  • A solid track record with communication processes, measurement tools, and technology
  • Understanding of engagement drivers and effective internal communication strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in copywriting and proofreading
  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion initiatives and events
  • Have the right to work in the UK without restriction
  • Live within commutable distance to our Portsmouth HQ several days a week with some flexibility for hybrid working over the rest of the week. This is ideally a full-time role, but we may be able to consider part-time requests.

Technical/professional qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in communications/media studies or related field
