The Clinical and Biomedical Sciences team wishes to recruit a full-time Graduate Research Assistant to support the work of Dr. Akshay Bhinge. This new MRC funded post is available on a fixed term basis from June 1st 2024 until May 31st 2025 with a possibility of extension. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Bhinge in analysing genomics data to understand the role of RNA dysregulation in motor neuron disease.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
Applicants will be proficient in using the R statistical package and will have familiarity with packages used to analyse bulk and single-cell transcriptomic datasets, ChIP-seq data, pathway enrichment analysis and gene regulatory networks.
