We are now looking for a Technical Development Engineer to join our team in Caledonian, UK.

What you will do

  • Actively support pro-active development of current and new safety requirements of QA department
  • Assess daily quality of mill wide processes
  • Initiate and manage trials
    • Discuss with suppliers, where necessary, obtaining all relevant documentation
    • Take into account all Safety and Environmental considerations of trial
    • Scope trial plan, including key success criteria and potential risks
    • Communicate to all necessary parties
    • Document outcome with recommendations
  • Raise work notifications, to effect repairs (SAP)
  • Raise Purchase requestions to maintain stock of key lab consumables
  • Manage and support a wide range of mill wide management and quality systems
  • Actively participate in mill wide troubleshooting, using all equipment available within QA department
  • Managing lab technicians rota and holidays
  • Support Environmental reporting requirements, via collection and assessment of data
  • Participate in management system (ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001) audits

Additional information

The Technical Development role will be involved in the Quality, Product Development and Environmental compliance areas of Paper manufacturing. Quality Assurance is an integral part of the Production Environment. As well as monitoring the quality of paper, it is involved in mill wide process verification and legislative testing of key parameters.

Within the Product Development function, the use of new Raw materials, changes to recipes and development of new products helps to maintain a cost effective and attractive portfolio of products. Finally, Environmental performance is at the forefront of all activities and communication both internally and externally, of accurate information is critical.
