We are looking for talented and enthusiastic STEM graduates to join our Invibio RD Graduate Development Programme. Perhaps you are a recent graduate, or you have some work experience and you’re looking for a change. If so, we want to hear from you.

The role

This 3-year development programme is structured to offer 6-month long rotations giving you exposure to a number of roles across Invibio R&D, with the aim of maximising the breadth of experience received in the dynamic field of Medical Device Product Development. Built on the foundations of polymer science, biomaterials and advanced manufacturing, the programme would be well suited to someone interested in solving real-world healthcare problems.

Working out of the new Leeds Product Development Centre, you will be a key member of Invibio teams working on novel Knee (Arthroplasty) & Trauma (Fracture Fixation) implants, two critical areas of our medical innovation strategy. The programme will further the knowledge and skills gained at university as you tackle complex engineering challenges faced during the product development lifecycle. This rotational scheme offers experiences across the following functions:

  • Product Development Engineering
  • New Product Introduction Engineering
  • Quality Engineering
  • Design Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Mechanical Testing & Metrology
  • Quality Assurance
  • Project Management

During the programme, you can expect to complete a minimum of 5 rotations. In each role, you will receive outstanding on-the-job training and support from your colleagues, giving you an appreciation of different specialisms and how these functions work together as part of the wider business. You will be given autonomy to own and lead project work whilst having day-to-day support from each rotation supervisor. Additionally, you will be assigned a buddy and mentor, both of whom will support your onboarding and continued development, respectively.

Alongside your rotations, you will be enrolled in our Career Catalyst Training Programme. This focuses on providing specialist career coaching to give you the best opportunity to springboard your career at Invibio. Furthermore, we support continued professional development through internal courses and selected external training. You will also have access to LinkedIn Learning, enabling you to develop a broad range of technical and interpersonal skills at any time.

Finally, Invibio recognises the benefits of professional registration, and therefore, we will actively support your chartership ambitions through mentorship and by paying for your annual subscription fees with your chosen institution.

Application requirements

You will be graduating or will have graduated within the last 1-3 years with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher (MSc/MEng/PhD) in one of the following engineering or scientific disciplines (or related), with a degree classification of 2:1 or above:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Medical / Biomedical Engineering
  • Bio-Engineering
  • Product Design / Engineering
  • Design & Development Engineering
  • Process Engineering
  • Materials Science / Materials Science & Engineering

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis.

Ideal applicants will apply their intellectual curiosity to solve complex problems and drive our innovation pipeline. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential to delivering on this programme. We also encourage proactivity in driving continuous improvement across our working practices and business processes. Finally, a strong desire to shape the future of medical devices will be key to your success at Invibio.
