The role

The Supply Analyst, Aviation Fuel (French Speaking) has a broad scope of responsibilities related to bulk fuel supply operations, logistics and scheduling of fuel and fuel-related services. Providing reliable, cost-effective supply of fuel to WFS customers, whilst optimizing supply chain efficiencies, are the key purposes of the position. The role has responsibility for the day-to-day hedging of physical position. Whilst the position will be responsible for a specific region, EMEA Supply operate as one team, and cross-regional support is essential for overall success.

Location: The position is based at our Canary Wharf office, One Canada Square. The role has a geographical remit covering Europe - occasional travel will be required.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management & Scheduling – actively manage and schedule the Company’s fuel inventories to ensure optimal inventory balances. Ensure correct and rateable scheduling of fuel deliveries into inventory, including interfacing with Into Plane Agents (ITP), suppliers, and service providers.
  • Pipeline Scheduling & Truck Dispatch – schedule and monitor both pipeline and truck deliveries into various inventory locations. Develop an optimal blend of supply based on current or new supply options.
  • Bulk Transaction Processing and Administration: ensure timely and accurate bulk transaction entry, verification and processing including payments and receivables.
  • Supply & Market Analytics – help perform on-going analysis of supply and demand patterns in inventory locations of responsibility to implement supply chain value creation opportunities which ensure optimal supply blend.
  • Gain understanding of fuel supply and logistics options and pricing (i.e. pipeline, truck, storage) and perform analysis related to the same.
  • Creation of weekly CXL (internal accounts system) haulage nominations for both Self Supply locations and GA locations.
  • Daily liaison with haulage companies and sites regarding missed loads/delivery issues, liaising with the operator for that location.
  • Continuous performance improvement – develop external partner and supplier relationships and collaboratively drive improved supply chain performance.
  • Development and analysis of quarterly KPIs for current haulage contracts to ensure they are meeting their contractual requirements.
  • Ensuring operational efficiency in allocated region in order to maximise profit.
  • Communicating and sharing best practice/opportunities for improvement across the EMEA supply team.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree essential

Work Experience Required

  • This is an entry level position for a candidate with an interest in Aviation, Fuel Supply and/or Logistics.
  • Knowledge of hedging and price risk management process is desirable.
  • Supply chain management experience, gained within an oil provider, is desirable but not essential.

Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.

  • A desire to work within the field of supply and the commodities industry is essential.
  • Analytical ability and strong numerical skills are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Being a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills is important – whilst the role is dedicated to a specific region, the business demands may mean support is required in wider regions with EMEA.
