We caught up with Hana Yahiaoui, Associate at SMBC Bank, to discuss what life is like working at the bank.
Please tell us a little about yourself and your role
I am currently a Front Office Associate as part of the Early Talent Program. Within the graduate program, we rotate in risk, coverage, and product functions, which allows us to have a full overview of the Bank and its structure, which is a great opportunity for any new joiner.
Why did you choose SMBC Bank?
I was interested in the international environment in which SMBC operates, and the expertise the Bank is recognized for in multiple product lines, such as in structured finance.
What is the working culture like?
The working culture is inclusive, collaborative, and driven, which I appreciate very much since it allows for everyone to be part of the team and seek excellence in what we do.
What do you enjoy most about working there?
I enjoy rotating between various product lines as it allows me to learn origination skills, while interacting with many stakeholders. I also enjoy the responsibilities I am given, which are very diverse, with a wide exposure to the clients.
What would be your number one piece of advice for someone considering applying?
My piece of advice would be to be as curious as possible in the process!
