8:30 Breakfast time --- Check daily updates and do the prework
While enjoying the breakfast, I check the updates and the schedule on Teams. It allows me to have a clear mind of what to do today. Then, I browse online about the backgrounds of the speakers and read through assigned articles for today’s session. After having a basic knowledge of the topic, I have a couple of questions in mind and feel quite excited to learn later.
11:00 Team discussion
It is the daily briefing time of our group. Before we start into the real work, we talk about the team guidelines, sharing expectations and concerns. In this way, we build trust and sincerity in the first place. During the discussion, we respect each other’s opinion and learn from different perspectives. Also, we give and receive feedbacks proactively for improvements. I feel inspired in such an effective and encouraging team.
14:00 Human-centered-design course
In the afternoon, I have a three-hour human-centered-design course, which leads me through the whole process of creating an innovation. It also equips me of many useful skillsets, such as beginners’ mindset, empathy map, and etc., which totally change my old way of thinking. I feel very engaged with various well-designed activities.
16:00 Network with other interns and exercise
I talk with other interns about our hobbies, career plans, and even cultures. We discover that we share a lot in common despite diverse cultural backgrounds. And it is also interesting and exciting to know more about other cultures. Thanks to the technology, we could still establish interpersonal relationship while locating remotely. Also, I open the Whil app to help me relax both mentally and physically. It makes me relieved after a busy and rewarding day.
