We are stronger together

Although we are growing rapidly, the friendly and family-orientated culture we started out with remains strong at Reconomy Group.  We are committed to supporting our people and helping them grow as we grow. Here are some examples of team members who have just done that:

Lyndsey Denning, who has been with the business 8 years was this year promoted into Director of Group HR.

“Since joining Reconomy my career has taken off. My role is very different now to when I first started and I am immensely proud to have been promoted into a Director position, sitting on the Board. This year also saw me being shortlisted for the Lets Recycle’s 35 under 35”

Michal Wojciechoski has worked at ASCG for just over 8 years. Starting his career as Production Operative he soon moved up to a Team Leader and then into the Account Management Team. Michal expressed interest in IT and as part of his development moved into a Project Support Analyst role.

“Working at ASCG, I have been offered great opportunities to move into roles across the business. I have also been able to complete my NVQ level 3 in customer service, ISTQB foundation level in Software Testing and a First Aid certificate”

Ellie Mitchell joined Valpak in March 2004 as Office Administrator, quickly progressing to Compliance Administrator, then Technical Advisor within 2 years. After supporting the Marketing Team with an event, she was asked if she would like to take on the role of Marketing Assistant. Since then, Ellie has developed her Marketing knowledge and skills and has been promoted to Senior Marketing Executive.

“I have learned so much over the past 18 years and I am so grateful to the business for the opportunities provided to develop my knowledge and skillset. Working for such an innovative and dynamic company means there is never a dull moment and I thoroughly enjoy helping to market the variety of services the business provides.”

Doug Gunter joined us 2014 as a Customer Services Coordinator. In 2017 he seized the opportunity to help the marketing team film a supplier event. In 2018 he was made full-time in the Marketing Team, formally appointed as Reconomy’s Videographer.

“looking back at what i was capable of 4 years ago, my skills as a videographer have continued to improve massively. It’s a skill that constantly evolves. That’s definitely the best part of my job – being able to make something that didn’t previously exist and have the satisfaction of seeing people watch and enjoy it!”

With a team of people from over 20 countries around the world, the Reconomy Group prides itself on being an international, diverse workplace.

Miranda Foulds has worked as General Manager at ASCG for over 16 years. Starting out as a Production Operative, she has moved through various roles to progress her career and gain experience and awareness of all areas of the business.

“As soon as I joined ASCG I could tell that there was a really nice sense of family which I loved. The reason for me staying so long was down to the support with personal development and career progression. I have over the years grown my skills through experience in work but also through training programmes.”

John Murphy qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 2020 and was promoted into his current position of Financial Planning and Analysis Manager in 2021.

“One of the best things about my job is the sheer variety of tasks that i’m now getting involved with. Financial reporting and analysis are both hugely important fields, because they give people the critical information they need to adapt and improve their performance. I’m very grateful for the time and energy that The Reconomy has invested in my development and the support from the senior Finance Team. I hope I can offer colleagues starting out the same level of support that I received”

Michelle Trinick was recently promoted from Site Liaison Officer into the role of Regional Account Manager in the Recycle division for the South West, UK.

“I’m hugely excited about starting this next chapter at Reconomy. I’m eager to share my passion for sustainability and the circular economy with our customers at a higher decision-making level. It’s more important than ever that we come together to collectively tackle the environmental challenges that are facing us all”.

Carlos Gamez has been with RLG since 2019. As Quality & Sustainability Manager, he coordinates the quality and environmental management strategic approach and drives sustainability as a key strategic element.

“Since I joined the company I have always felt welcome to speak up and develop my own ideas to push the company to become a more sustainable and high-quality business partner for our global customers. I’m thrilled to see what challenges the future brings in such an exciting field as the Circular Economy, especially now with the new opportunities that the integration with the Reconomy Group might bring”.
