Cyndi Mitchell: The lady tech superstar

Book open Reading time: 1 min

It's not every day that a tech-superstar, let alone a female one, shares with you the secrets to her success. But would you really expect anything less from Bright Festival? No, we didn't think so. It comes but once a year, and is not, after all, an every day event.

So the committed readers of this blog will remember that last week we profiled the socially responsible technology company, ThoughtWorks, coming to meet you at Bright Festival. Now we wanted to tell you more about their former Managing Director and now senior advisor, Cyndi Mitchell, who brilliantly enough is one of the Festival's headline speakers.

Growing up on a farm in Nebraska must feel a million miles from Cyndi's global business leadership in high profile tech companies, with teams in China, India, Australia, UK / Europe and the US. Following a degree in Chemical Engineering (just goes to show university is a lot about transferable skills), she has forged a 17-tyear career building and leading global businesses to innovate with technology.

Her career spans being Senior Architect at Sun Microsystems, various roles at Thoughtworks (the global software and services firm that pioneered Agile in enterprise), including senior executive, Co-Founder and Managing Director of ThoughtWorks Studios (their global product division), and then Managing Director of ThoughtWorks UK, where she held overall responsibility for business development, operations and client delivery. Most recently Cyndi is Co-Founder and CEO of big-data-analytics-championing Logscape.

But we don't want to steal Cyndi's Festival thunder - register for the Festival and find out more for yourself.
