Being part of Management Today's Inspiring Women's Conference

Book open Reading time: 2 mins

November 19th saw us proudly being one of the official partners of Management Today’s ‘Inspiring Women’s Conference’, an event to inspire likeminded women and smash glass ceilings. Championing female talent forms a crucial part of our mission here at Bright Network and we were delighted to extend the invitation to 15 of our brightest female members.

Some of our Bright Network female members ready for an inspirational day

It was certainly not a day of stuffy PowerPoints. We heard from high-flying women who described a successful woman as a confident networker who seeks out her own opportunities, she doesn’t wait for others to recognise her achievements. She sees the bigger picture in order to be resilient. Attributes we applaud and foster through our Women in Leadership events and monthly Bright Network Women’s Newsletter.

It's simply asking someone for a coffee… in my experience nobody has ever said no.

Bella Vuillermoz, Director for Women in Leadership, Sky

The conference highlighted that networking is key for women to get ahead, yet many women struggle with this.

We were encouraged to see that our Bright Network female members were inspired by her talk and approached Bella's colleagues at Sky, Britta Barnet and Anna-Marie Norman during the break who were more than happy to answer their questions about how they got into their roles.

The event focused on giving women the tools to put ideas into practice. Karen Penny of American Express urged women to be their own chief marketing officers while Carla Buzasi creator of the Huffington Post shared that she put herself up for awards.

The day was an inspiration to women and we were delighted to be part of it. We're also thrilled that Management Today will be the media partner of our flagship Women in Leadership event taking place in March 2016. To find out more about it, please do get in touch with our Commercial Director, Tara McKay - tara.mckay@brightnetwork.co.uk
