When seeking placement roles, I was eager to experience working in a globally recognised FMCG organisation, an exciting industry and in a challenging role! Pernod Ricard fulfilled this wishlist and provided an experience beyond the comparable placement year offering and exceeded my own personal expectations.
I was guided to develop my professional and academic skillset through designated training and roles carrying real responsibility, with constant support from Pernod Ricard’s outstanding organisational culture and talent. The importance of conviviality encourages employees to work together towards business objectives. Specifically, the Category Development role required working multi-functionally, gaining insight into commercial and brand marketing functions, entrusting responsibility of data-led strategy within sell-ins and support development of brand plans.
I was continually provided opportunities of particular interest, enabling me to present at customer meetings, including a customer trip to the Martell Chateau, in Cognac. Beyond the fantastic work-related experiences, I made lifelong friends and connections, both directly with the intern cohort and fellow colleagues who offered continued support and encouragement to return post-graduation. Ultimately, the experienced I gained from my placement at Pernod Ricard was pivotal to my success in the final year of university and my return as a Business Development Executive.
