Waterland is a European private equity investment group that supports entrepreneurs in realising their growth ambitions with our unique pro-active deal sourcing and buy-and-build strategy.

Our story started in the Netherlands in 1999 when we initiated our first fund and ever since then we have consistently achieved top tier investment performance while expanding to a pan European presence, with more than 130 team members and almost 20 different nationalities, across 12 offices in 10 countries.

We are an active shareholder in our portfolio companies, playing a key role in their strategic and operational development, growth and performance. With our experienced, entrepreneurial investment team, we aim to help ambitious entrepreneurs attain a strong market position in today’s increasingly competitive business environment. To date, Waterland has made investments in over 800 companies.

Waterland has consistently achieved top tier investment performance and we are proud to rank as the number 5 global private equity firm in the tenth annual HEC/Dow Jones Private Equity Performance Ranking (January 2021), and as the number 8 most consistently performing buyout fund manager worldwide in the Preqin Consistent Performers in Global Private Equity & Venture Capital Report, March 2020.
