Empowering Female Futures in Modern Engineering

Looking to kickstart your career in Modern Engineering and intrigued to learn more as to why Accenture is an employer of choice for both technology and diversity? In December 2023 we launched our Empowering Female Futures learning experience to support those applying to our technology programmes.

At Accenture, we feel strongly about the importance of inclusion and diversity. We believe our strength, and opportunity to stay at the forefront of Technology innovation, is powered by our people and their diversity of thought. Which is why we have developed the Empowering Female Futures learning series – to support you to learn more about why at Accenture we care about the individual, to help you identify and harness your strengths throughout our assessment process, and to foster a support network amongst those with a shared passion for Technology.

The experience is shaped around three pillars

1.    Inspire – have the opportunity to connect with inspiring females across our business. That includes our female Technology Leaders and females currently on our graduate programme. Learn about their personal journeys, experiences, and why they choose Accenture. You’ll also get a sneak peek into the workings of our Innovation Hub – and get insight into how being aware of orthodoxies can help drive technology innovation for our clients!
2.    Inform – learn more about our business, the amazing technology we work with, our culture, the programme you are applying for, and what life is really like at Accenture. You’ll get the opportunity to ask all the questions you might have – whatever they might be!
3.    Educate – hear from our Senior Recruiters about our assessment process, why we adopt Strengths-Based Interviewing (SBI), and how you can prepare for this style of questions.

The core of this learning experience will be a one-day virtual connect on 26th March 2024.

What we’re looking for

On the Modern Engineering Graduate Programme, we’re looking for a passion to grow and develop, a desire for self-improvement, a curious mind, and a strong work ethic. You will bring a creative and innovative mindset to your work and clients while ensuring the highest quality work delivered on time.
We’re also looking for you to demonstrate a passion for technology in either your studies, work experience or extracurricular activities.

For Modern Engineering, IT skills are essential. You will need a degree in IT, computer science, or a technology-related subject. However, if you have a real passion and flair for technology, as well as an understanding of how it can be used, we will consider a maths, science, or engineering degree. We expect you to have a real interest in software engineering and end-to-end design and delivery, and you’ll know a thing or two about programming.

Where you’ll work

Accenture is a people first business which thrives on collaboration, knowledge sharing and building strong connections. You will need to live within commutable distance of your assigned office which will be Newcastle, and you will be expected to come into the office regularly.  Due to the nature of our work, you may be delivering projects on client sites anywhere in the UK and sometimes outside of the UK. You will be expected to work on client site or in your assigned office for a minimum of 3 days a week (or more depending on business requirements).
