What's new for 2021? 

Internship Experience UK: Public Sector, Policy & Charity is a brand new experience for 2021. We've designed it specifically to help you on your journey through the world of work. Here's what you can expect to benefit from:

  • The chance to learn from and connect with leading employers in the Public Sector, Policy & Charity sectors
  • Sector-focused and core skills sessions to give you greater insight into working in these industries
  • The chance to tailor your work experience based on your interests
  • Unique sub-sector streams and project work that you can impress current and potential employers with

You'll also gain a certificate to show employers your dedication to your career and industry.

As part of the three-day experience, we've partnered with the very best employers in the industry to deliver workshops on topics you need to know about before starting your career:

  • Problem-solving: Addressing personal wellbeing in times of challenge - Ark Teacher Training

Am I eligible and how do I apply?

This experience is open to every student and recent graduate (18+). All you need to take part is a Bright Network membership which is completely free and you can sign up when you start your application. To apply, simply click the button below and fill in an application form – it takes about 10 minutes to complete. You don't need previous experience to complete the experience - just a passion for the sector.

Day one

Take part in sector overviews and expert skills sessions delivered by our leading partner employers: Teach First and Frontline.

9 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.

Day two

Begin your work project to simulate real-life tasks you’d be responsible for during a Public Sector, Policy or Charity internship.

9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Day three

After completing your project, there will be final skills sessions and a closing celebration to mark the end of your internship experience. You will receive feedback on your work once completed.

What if I can't attend?

What if I'm under 18? 

If you're under the age of 18, you don't have to miss out. This year we've launched Internship Experience UK On Demand Schools where those 16 and 17 years old can take part in a tailored internship experience of your choice, in your own time during the school summer holidays.
