The Policy in Action team provides programme and network support, technical assistance, and mutual (peer-based) learning and training services to European Union (EU) institutions.

We are seeking a creative and motivated Junior Graphic Designer to join our communications team and help effectively convey messages in a range of policy areas, including employment, labour market, social inclusion and protection, education and training, and migration.

About the role

The Junior Graphic Designer will play a crucial role in creating visually compelling materials that support our public policy communication efforts.

This position involves collaborating with policy experts, communications specialists, and other team members to design graphics that enhance our reports, presentations, social media content, e-learning materials, and other outreach materials. Your primary duties will involve:

  • Creating infographics
  • Preparing publication/document layouts
  • Developing Microsoft Word and PowerPoint templates
  • Crafting e-learning and other screen-based designs
  • Establishing branding
  • Developing supporting visuals for social media
  • Editing videos
  • Preparing print-ready materials (leaflets, posters, banners, promotional materials)
  • Ensuring high standards of quality
  • Engaging in creative brainstorming sessions with the Senior Designer

What we are looking for?

  • Educational background in graphic design/visual communication
  • Adherence to brand guidelines
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Canva
  • Video editing skills are a plus
  • Motion graphics knowledge is beneficial
  • Understanding of UX and UI design is an asset
  • Keeping informed of current industry trends
  • Conduct image resizing and retouching tasks
  • Capability to manage various projects at once and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative brainstorming with Senior Designer
  • Attention to detail
  • Commitment to quality assurance
