Admiral Financial Services Ltd (AFSL) is a growing lending business and is on track to become a strategic pillar within the Admiral Group. We have a vacancy for a Credit Risk Analyst to join the newly formed Portfolio & Financial Risk Team. This is an entry-level role suited to recent graduates or somebody starting their credit risk career. It will involve supporting the Financial Risk Manager in identifying, analysing, and reporting on areas of current and future financial risk exposure, as well as providing oversight and assurance for first-line activities to ensure the business operates within risk appetite. Full training will be provided and you can expect to be involved in the following:

  • Credit and pricing strategy oversight
  • Model governance and oversight
  • Ad hoc analysis into portfolio trends
  • Econometric modelling and economic forecasting

Responsibilities include

  • Identifying, analysing, and reporting on areas of emerging and potential financial risk across the customer lifecycle that could impact current and future AFSL financial positions.
  • Supporting the Financial Risk Manager in the coordination and management of our Credit Risk Committee.
  • Forecasting future macroeconomic conditions for use in loss provisioning and business planning.
  • Supporting the Financial Risk Manager in our monthly provision reporting and periodic stress testing activity.

Required Skills and Experience

  • An undergraduate degree in a numerical subject such as Mathematics, Economics, or Finance is essential. A postgraduate degree in Economics would be desirable but is not an essential requirement for this role.
  • Experience in extracting, manipulating, and analysing data using either R, Python, SQL, or SAS is desirable. However, full training will be provided.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to produce clear documents and analysis, effectively presenting complex information.
  • Strong planning/organisation skills with the ability to manage your workload, prioritise competing workloads and support wider projects.
  • Good written & verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Due to Covid, the whole Admiral Financial Services is working remotely. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home. We expect you to be working remotely for the foreseeable future, however, once it is safe to return to the office, we will have days when the whole team comes together to collaborate. You can decide if you want to come to the office between 2-5 days per week.
