Graduate Pricing Analyst Cardiff 2022

Please note, this is a permanent role in the Pricing department with 2022 start dates, as opposed to a rotational graduate programme.

As the market continues to evolve and we continue to develop the way we work, we are looking for enthusiastic and aspiring Graduate Pricing Analysts who enjoy working with numbers, to join the Pricing teams of our Car and Van Insurance products of our multi-award-winning business. Our pricing teams include:

• Motor Pricing (Car Pricing, Van Pricing)
• Cross-Risk Pricing (Cross-Product Team, Multi-Car Team, Multi-Cover Team)
• International Pricing
• Fraud Analytics

The teams

Motor Pricing

Pricing is responsible for setting the rates which create competitive prices for our Car and Van Insurance customers. Graduates in these teams can get involved with everything from running pricing models using statistical tools, understanding the numbers within those models, and ultimately having responsibility for making proposals for potential improvements to our products' rating structure and other business-critical decision-making processes.

Cross Risk Pricing

The Cross-Risk Pricing team is responsible for all pricing work that relates to the pricing of one Admiral Group product. The role provides exposure to all Admiral products (Motor, Home, and Travel, etc.) and an exciting opportunity to learn about them. Pricing Analysts in Cross-Risk require having strong communication and collaboration with Data Protection and IT teams.

International Pricing

Our International Pricing team is based in Cardiff and is responsible for providing support and guidance to our businesses worldwide. Graduates will work together with our colleagues and teams overseas, running pricing models and using statistical tools to understand and analyse the numbers and make proposals to improve the pricing structure in our international operations. Our overseas operations have ambitious growth plans and sharing best practices, innovation, and using knowledge and experience in one country to improve our risk selection and processes in other countries plays a key role to be successful. Graduates who join International Pricing can expect to also work closely with our Admiral Financial Services (AFSL) and Admiral Pioneer entities, with the possibility of transitioning to either entity full-time at a later stage.

Fraud Analytics

Fraud Analytics looks to unearth value from both in-house and external data sets by cooperatively finding correlations in customer behaviour and fraudulent activity. Graduates in this team are responsible for carrying out various tasks, including creating business rules, evaluating data sources, network monitoring, and proactively suggesting process changes. We are a growing team that is enthusiastic about the work we do and love nothing more than to catch a fraudster!

Essential skills

• 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline (mathematical desirable but not essential)
• Demonstrable ability to combine analytical thinking based on numbers, together with common sense and imagination
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A willingness to dive into detail

Thanks to our business's culture and structure, the skills and experience developed within our Pricing and Fraud Analytics teams would be transferable to other analytical departments as we grow our product portfolio.

Hybrid working

While this role is based in our head office in Cardiff, due to the impact of COVID-19, it's likely that you will initially be required to work from home, with your initial training taking place using online collaboration tools. However, going forward, we anticipate that this role will allow you to work partially remotely on a more permanent basis.
