The role sits within the ASC UK Business Operations department, which includes Media, Corporate and Internal Communications, Marketing and Business Development. If successful you will work for the Head of the Support Center, but may also have input into the Head of Business Management department. We provide 24/7 service and the role is varied and often requires high levels of flexibility and multi-tasking in an ever changing, unusual and exciting environment.

Tasks & accountabilities

During this placement, the activities you may undertake will include;

  • Merchandising and Marketing – identifying new and exciting ways to promote the ATLAS brand through publicity and merchandising
  • Customer / internal engagement – conducting face to face meetings with customers and internal staff, potentially leading on some projects and visits (eg Airshows, High level visits to military sites)
  • Corporate Hospitality – assisting with organising high profile corporate events
  • Project & Event Management – managing smaller internal events and projects, taking responsibility for outcomes, budgets, timescales etc
  • Corporate and Internal Communications – finding new ways to ensure that information reaches target audiences and the A400M Atlas Force achievements are recognised. Coordination with the central Airbus Defence and Space comms team.
  • Administrative tasks – for example preparation of status reports, minutes of meeting, coordination of agendas.
  • Opportunity to lead some of our improvement projects (followin Airbus LBIP methodology) the candidate will act as Project lead of a mulitfunctional team.

Required skills

Please note our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Candidate’s studies should be related to one or more of the following: Media and Comms / Business Management /
  • You must be confident, proactive and self-motivating, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good personal communication skills, both spoken and written are essential and knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel is extremely advantageous.

The job is at RAF Brize Norton, which is an active military airfield. Therefore, all applicants must pass a UK Baseline Personal Security Screening (BPSS) and must have a full UK driving licence and their own car.
