About us

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Systems Engineer to join the Wing Engineering team in Filton. The role offers the opportunity to develop your Design skills on Wing Electrical Systems Installation (ESI) perimeter while boosting your career preparing to be part of the future of air transport.

This is a great opportunity to learn and apply multi-program knowledge on a multinational team with presence in Filton and Bremen. We are an ideal mix of experiences and backgrounds who can help you develop technically and personally in the role.

We are in charge of Wing ESI definition for all Airbus products, on both Functional Electrics and Installation disciplines. Team portfolio includes Single Aisle family, A380, A400M, A330 and A350. We also support R&T projects (High Performance Wing and ZeroE, Wing of Tomorrow) and support Airbus UK Level1 teams ad-hoc in coordination with the relevant organizations.

What you will be doing

As the Electrical Systems Engineering Designer you will gain experience across whole wing component and will get a good overview of the entire ESI and Systems engineering department. On the process you will be gaining and applying knowledge relevant to Electrics definition on Wing and Airframe perimeter from architectural definition to final build.

The tasks will be varied, the pace will be high and require you to use different skills (technical, project management, communication, team work, etc.) in order to complete them successfully. Support from experienced engineers will be available.

You will support activities within the ESI team across a variety of programs.

During this placement, the activities you may undertake will include

  • Feasibility studies,
  • Support to concept and development products,
  • Wing perimeter investigations,
  • Real life installation trials and prototyping,
  • Introduction of modifications,
  • Support to in-service fleet and Wing build-support.

  • You have been studying for a relevant engineering or technical degree
