Airbus Placement Years provide exceptional opportunities to young graduates to develop their technical skills by working side by side with our professional engineers. As an Airbus Defence & Space Electrical Systems placement student, you’ll work in a function tied to your studies in major space engineering domain such as Power system, Harness design, On Board Date Handling, RF- Communication, etc. Join us in building the future of aerospace.

During this placement, the activities you may undertake will include

  • Support to early concept studies, including RF link budget assessment, data handling, and power and energy balance of the spacecraft.

  • Work on an Research & Development Project

  • Design wiring architecture, harnesses, and physical wire routing installations.

  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for units and electrical systems

Requirements

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Currently studying a degree that covers one or more of the following electrical disciplines

    • Power analysis and energy balance, including sizing and selection of Solar Array, batteries and Power Conditioning & Distribution system

    • RF Communications

    • EMC 

    • Data handling and communication protocols, including storage and transfer of information

  • MATLAB/Simulink modelling/ C/C++

  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. Formatting, VBA & Macros, etc.)

  • A keen interest and passion for space and the industry
