The Costing Engineering team within Finance in the UK creates and builds cost information all along the product life cycle: from the concept phase (R&T) up to Design-to-cost and modification negotiations with suppliers on existing aircraft. We work transnationally alongside manufacturing and engineering functions to provide accurate cost evaluations to influence decision making on aircraft design as early as possible in the product life cycle.

The team also deals with procurement to supply cost estimates and act as advisors to support negotiation phases with suppliers. Our specialist engineering expertise and costing knowledge is employed to develop and maintain cost engineering methodologies and data references.

The role

  • Provide cost analysis and alternatives
  • Create cost references from knowledge
  • Prepare Cost Engineering Assumptions
  • Produce Cost Estimation and Simulation
  • Deliver Cost Engineering Dossiers
  • Define Cost Engineering Enablers
  • Researches new technologies and associated costs
  • Digital costing process and data analysis

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to either degree level (2:1 or above) or equivalent within one the following disciplines;
  • Production/Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace engineering, General Engineering, Aviation Engineer or Data Analysis
  • An understanding of Aerospace products and can demonstrate your wider interest in the aerospace industry and motivation for this sector.
  • Ideal applicants will demonstrate previous experience of organising events or of projects resulting in the delivery of added value to the business.
  • A project or internship covering Improvement Projects and Engineering/Manufacturing Principles would be desirable
